Sissies

I really love the public radio show _This American Life_ out of WBEZ in Chicago. This was a great program, I love the intro especially. Take a listen.

Are there any other Ira Glass fans out there? His voice is so different from what you normally hear on radio.

I love Ira. Met him once at an NPR thing in Washington, the voice is even more haunting in person. My NPR station (WAMU in Washington DC) sometimes uses his voice as a prize during membership campaigns--you can have him on your answering machine!

I love Ira Glass and This American Life too, Colin. the Sissies show is a good one. Did you ever hear the one about The Golden Apple diner in Chicago? I loved it so much that the first thing I did when I got moved here and had a chance to go to Chi was to eat at the Golden Apple. The food is terrible!

I, too, love me some TAL. Apparently, Ira and Julia Sweeney are doing a joint talk/conversation this weekend, here in Seattle. I got really excited about that. Sadly, I have neither the time or the money to go.
